New Chairman appointed to North Cork Enterprise Board
Mr Michael Hanley - Manager North Cork Enterprise Board welcoming new Chairman Tadhg Curtis
Recently elected Chairman of the North Cork Enterprise Board, Mr.Tadhg Curtis, is looking forward to the challenges of his new office. Tadhg, an education and training specialist with SIPTU, heads up an organisation with a newly reconstituted Board, a new Manager and an increased range of activities, designed to support the creation / development of enterprise in the North Cork Region.
"Almost half of the Board are newly nominated and their enthusiasm and fresh approach added to the drive and expertise of Manager, Mr. Michael Hanley and the experience of longer serving Board Members has brought a new vibrancy to the Board Room" For the first time in many years, we will financially support the creation of employment, and though our funding in this area will be limited by new Government budgetary constraints, this measure allied to the provision of an increased range of courses marketed and promoted by our Business Development Officer, Joan Kelleher will greatly assist with employment creation / maintenance and the development of an entrepreneurial culture in our region. These courses which include Computerised Book-Keeping, Marketing Seminars, Website Optimisation, Employment Law, etc. will be run right through the area from Mitchelstown to Millstreet and it is intended to repeat the hugely successful Business Networking Event run just before Christmas."
In conclusion, Mr. Curtis said that he hopes to develop closer links with Leader / Partnership Groups, Development Groups, Chambers of Commerce, Community Associations, etc in the region who were involved in the promotion of enterprise in their own areas.
