Schools Enterprise Programme for 2011/2012
The North Cork Enterprise Board (NCEB) officially launched their Schools Enterprise Programme for 2011/2012 on Tuesday evening last 20th September at Springfort Hall Hotel in Mallow. Business teachers and Transition Year Co-Ordinators from second level schools throughout North Cork gathered at the event along with Tadhg Curtis, Chair of the North Cork Enterprise Board, Michael Hanley, Manager of NCEB, Joan Kelleher, Business Adviser, Yvonne O’Neill, Schools Enterprise Co-Ordinator and Board Members Cllr Dan Joe Fitzgerald, Cllr Tom Sheahan and Michael McGrath.
Schools Co-Ordinator, Yvonne O’Neill gave a presentation to the teachers present on the range of enterprise activities organised for second level schools in North Cork this year.

The Student Enterprise Awards is the flagship programme of the NCEB Schools Enterprise calendar. This year approximately 13 schools from Boherbue, Millstreet, Mitchelstown, Fermoy, Buttevant, Kanturk, Mallow and Charleville will take part in the programme.
Each year almost 15,000 students nationally take part in the competition. Last year, a group of Transition Year students from Davis College in Mallow received a Special Merit Award at the National Final of the competition in Croke Park and were also interviewed by Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show.
Mr Michael Hanley Manager says ‘We are delighted to announce a comprehensive schools enterprise programme for 2011/2012. We hope to extend our programme of in-school talks by local business people and would welcome entrepreneurs and business people in the North Cork region to get in contact with us if they would like to get involved in the programme and help students in various areas of business such as sales & marketing, HR, finance, production etc…’.
