Year of Craft 2011 & Cork Craft Month 2011

The Cork County & City Enterprise Boards are delighted to be involved in the Year of Craft 2011.

Following the success of Cork Craft Month 2010, Cork Craft Month 2011 will take place in
August 2011. This initiative is funded and managed by the Cork County & City Enterprise Board, Cork Art & design (CAD), West Cork Craft & Design Guild, Cork County Council and the Crafts Council of Ireland.

We aim to have up to 120 craft workers involved and supported. Such craft workers are full time commercial micro-enterprises who contribute to the Cork economy.  We aim to address the issues of employment and business growth in the craft sector through events specifically targeted at trade sales and export.  It will be an inclusive market-driven programme designed to raise awareness of, and help strengthen sales of, applied arts in Cork County both amongst Cork people and visitors to the region.

Whether you are a new start-up craft/gift producer or an established craft/gift producer or somebody involved in the retail side of craft/gift, then you should make yourself aware of how to get involved in Cork Craft Month 2011.
