North Cork Food Network:

FUNDING & LISTING YOUR FOOD BUSINESS!

A NETWORK HOSTED BY

THE NORTH CORK ENTERPRISE BOARD

on 13th April 2011

A selection of food companies from the North Cork area will participate in a unique food forum at The Mallow GAA Complex, Carrigoon on Wednesday 13th April at 6:30pm. Companies exhibiting their products include Jack McCarthy’s Butchers (Kanturk); Nibbles (Millstreet); Food Capers and Horgan’s Fresh Fish (Mallow).

Visitors to this event will also be able to taste the products on offer, as well as avail of a series of presentations from the likes of Paul Herlihy (Herlihy’s Centra: Mallow, Fermoy, Millstreet) and representatives from Bullseye Food Marketing (Cork).

Paul Herlihy says: “I will be advising participants of the best ways in which to have their business listed locally, a small detail that could produce increased revenue.”

Another subject of particular interest will be How I Started My Business: From Farmers’ Markets to Export, presented by Deirdre Collins (Dee’s Wholefoods).

Deirdre secured funding via the television series Dragons Den and says: “Attracting funding for any venture is never going to be easy - especially during a recession - but I advise participants to develop a strong business plan, with a clear idea of the path their business will take over a three to five year period. Attracting funding is not impossible however, and I am delighted to have this opportunity to highlight how I got my own business off the ground.
